FAQs

How does home staging work?
Foothill Home Staging works to create spaces in your home that buyers can aspire to.  We all want to be more organized, more stylish, more leisurely, etc.  So when a buyer visits a home that shows them a lifestyle they want, a transition happens from logically deciding to visit a home, to emotionally envisioning their family living there.

According to the 2015 National Association of Realtors (NAR) survey, 81% of buyers said it was easier to visualize the staged property as their future home.

Isn’t home staging expensive?
It's not nearly as expensive as lowering the asking price of your home.  Foothill Home Staging works hard to utilize the furniture and accessories you already own.  However, we will make suggestions for purchasing new items if we feel they will help update your home and make it more appealing to buyers.

A 2011 National Association of Realtors (NAR) survey found that, on average, every $100 spent on staging your home gives a return on investment of $399.

I used an interior designer when I moved in.  Why do I need to hire a professional stager to decorate again?

Interior designers focus on creating spaces that are tailored specifically to you, your style, your daily needs, etc.  Home Stagers work differently in that we strive to create an environment that appeals to the majority of buyers and their lifestyle aspirations.  Think leisurely weekends and family get togethers.

Can't I stage my home myself?
It is difficult to be objective about our homes as they are very personal to us.  They are filled with things that are sentimental, things that make us happy, and things that provide comfort.  This is the way our homes should be.  However, it is difficult for buyers imagine themselves in your home.  Foothill Home Staging walks through your home as a buyer would and works to highlight your home’s features and minimize it’s liabilities.
